“Visualization” method of teaching
When discussing a remedy, Dr Jus possesses the wonderful gift of portraying the typical behaviors of different homeopathic types in a lively, descriptive manner. This “picture-painting” method of teaching makes it easier for the students to memorize the numerous homeopathic constitutional types and the corresponding remedies.
Beside Dr. Jus, 10 other homoeopaths teach the various homoeopathic subjects.
Practice-oriented
From the first semester on, students come in regular contact with patients. One method of practical teaching uses live audiovisual transmissions of Dr Jus' case-takings which are followed by students in the classroom. Each case is then subsequently discussed in class.
From the third year on, students conduct their first patient interviews in front of their lecturers and classmates. This enables them to gain some preliminary practical experience under the watchful supervision of the lecturer.
Practical training
The course requires students to prove their completion of 42 days of internship work in a homeopathic clinic. This can either be in SHI's in-house clinic or in other private homeopathic practices. This practical training can also be done abroad, e.g. in Goa, India, where the school visits a homeopathic hospital each year to witness the extent and possibilities of homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathic Garden

Homoeopathic garden |
The SHI homeopathic garden serves as an ideal learning tool for the pharmacology classes. Round 120 plants, which are used as homoeopathic medicines, grow in the garden. Since homeopathic remedies are not gained from plants alone, the course also covers various other sources of homeopathic remedies.
Students become acquainted with the entire production process, from the source substances to the globules.
Library
A well-equipped library allows students unrestricted access to the most important homeopathic and medical works.
International Collaboration

Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic College & Hospital
|
SHI has a partnership with Shri Kamaxidevi Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital in Goa. Both institutions collaborate in the fields of teaching, practical training and research.
B.K. Bose Trust & Museum
The SHI also encompasses the Dr B.K. Bose Trust, founded by Dr Jus in honor of his mentor, who died in 1977. The Trust makes a significant contribution to homeopathic research, and the proving of a number of substances have already been successfully conducted. In addition, the Trust allows students to gain insight into research activities through active involvement in selected projects.
Not only the teaching and philosophy of Dr Bose are prized at the SHI - Dr Jus also treasures many personal items of Dr. Bose and set up a museum in honour of his revered mentor.
Conscious of the unchanging laws of nature and the limited span of human existence, the SHI team dedicates itself hour by hour in the service of homeopathy. |
